NOTE: We have moved this month’s meeting up one day (from the usual 3rd Wed) to Tuesday May 19th.

The JUG meeting offers a great place to network with other developers, recruiters and businesses as well as to learn new technologies. The location is the same as usual, and as always we have refreshments available – thanks to our sponsor ettaingroup! If you plan to attend please use our Invitation.

Presentation Outline

The topic of this presentation is about the fast growing open source Java-based Open Cloud Platform called GridGain and how it is ideally suited for emerging native cloud application development. The presentation starts with a brief introduction to grid computing and cloud computing, followed by a discussion about a synergy between two and the actual use cases. Further, GridGain and its key features will be reviewed with an emphasis on how these features simplify running grid-enabled applications on the cloud environment. Real-life example of running largest publicly known grid on Amazon using GridGain will be discussed.

Live coding example of creating grid-enabled application with GridGain will demonstrate the “powerful simplicity” of the GridGain features.
