The CharlotteJUG is back from the summer off and we have a great first presentation for our September meeting (details below). As you may know over the summer we took some time to perform a survey and also refreshed the look of the website (goto http://www.charlottejug.org). This was to help people quickly see the three keys areas we have News, Events and of course local Jobs. Also, as you can see from the new invite, we have moved off Evite on onto anyvite.com which is much cleaner and also doesn’t require registration.

Also we have started to spread out wings a little and have created a CharlotteJUG facebook group and also a LinkedIn group. Also for those of you that are on twitter we are at http://www.twitter.com/charlottejug (those who aren’t on twitter yet – come on?!).

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the upcoming event! Its worth noting that Spring is now the No.1 skill employers are looking for!

Thanks for checking out Anyvite! We’re still fairly young so if there’s anything you think needs to be improved or added, just let us know!

Hey thanks Dan – people are already jumping on the new system and so far the experience is x100 better than evite :P (not too hard to beat!)… It would be great if bounced e-mails could be optionally removed from the group list :)

Sorry it’s been a few days, I just found this thread again!

That’s a great idea and improving our bounce email detection and associated actions is pretty high on our priority list. We want to make sure we’re doing it well and that no one gets penalized if there mailbox is temporarily full or some other temporary bounce situation.

Thanks for the suggestion and let us know if you have any other ideas! And thanks again for using Anyvite!
